Managing Veterinarian

$50,000 Sign-On Bonus – Abri Veterinary Hospital of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is looking to hire an enthusiastic and motivated managing veterinarian to join our busy AAHA accredited practice that has served the Winston-Salem community for over 20 years. Our team consists of one full-time veterinarian and a well-trained support staff that includes several Certified Veterinary Technicians. We also utilize the external experience of our relief veterinarians to help accommodate our growing clientele. Our hospital is well equipped with a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound. Services provided to our patients include preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. In addition to spays and neuters and teeth cleaning, we do a broad range of surgical procedures. Including bone plating and pinning for fractures, soft tissue surgeries such as tumor removals, splenectomies, gastrointestinal surgeries, urinary bladder surgery to remove stones and tumors, urethrostomies, ear canal resections for chronic ear disease and lateral stabilization procedures for torn ACLs.

Associate Veterinarian

The Associate Veterinarian will need an educational background of at least: A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Technician to our team! We are looking for a technician with a strong interest and previous experience in surgery and dentistry who would also be happy jumping into rooms as well. ***$250.00 sign on bonus contingent on 90 days of employment “in good standing.”

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree in applied science, veterinary technology
  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in North Carolina

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to accurately position for radiographs
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Perform dentistry and dental x-rays as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $21.00 per hour
